We are excited for the 2010 Isanti Home Show on March 27 and 28. Cart to Cupboard receives all attendee donations as this year's non-profit benefactor!

Stop by the Isanti Civic Arena on Saturday (Mar. 27) from 9-5 or Sunday (Mar. 28) from 11-4 to support Cart to Cupboard and local businesses. We will be greeting visitors at the door with information and activities, and everyone will have a chance to learn about our services and Isanti County seniors.

With the recent closing of a local pharmacy, are you worried about how you or a family member can continue to get the prescriptions you need? Cart to Cupboard is here to serve you during this time of transition. Our staff can pick up your prescriptions at any area pharmacy and deliver them to you. Contact us at 763-552-9222 to learn more about this and our other services.

Volunteer thermometer update
We continue to work with many great volunteers to provide our services and meet the needs of our customers. We've been especially appreciative of the services of students and staff from the Rum River South Educational Program over the past month. They've helped out in a variety of ways and their contributions have made a big difference in our customers' lives.

As of this update, we are 24% of the way to our goal of 2,000 volunteer hours. Thanks to all of our volunteers for their hard work!

Happy Holidays from Cart to Cupboard! Do you know a senior who has trouble getting out as the weather gets colder? Do you know of someone who is lonely or needs a little extra assistance around the holiday season? We are happy to share information about our program with anyone in need. Volunteer hours thermometerCart to Cupboard teamed up with various community groups in October to make a difference for local seniors. Youth and leaders from First Baptist Church raked up 54 bags of lea bes, and volunteers from the Wild River Pioneers 4-H group made some fleece blankets. We all had a lot of fun, and everyone appreciated the contributions of these great volunteers. To read more about recent volunteer projects and see some pictures, visit our volunteer page.

Cart to Cupboard had a table at the Operation Community Connect event held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge on October 24, 2009. We shared information about our program with the many people who stopped by our table.

This event provided information on services and resources to homeless community members and those "living on little." Many local organizations were present to answer questions and provide information to event attendees.

Free Fall Chores Day
When: Saturday, October 24, 2009

Cart to Cupboard is offering a day of free leaf-raking and other light fall chores to seniors living anywhere in Isanti County. You don't need to be a regular Cart to Cupboard customer to take advantage of this event. If you or someone you know wants to take advantage of this opportunity, contact our office at 763-552-9222 or carttocupboard.ils@gmail.com to sign up. Our volunteers will take care of your yard.

Thank you to the youth and chaperones of First Baptist Church in Cambridge for providing the volunteers to make this event possible!

Cart to Cupboard is pleased to begin offering a wider variety of services. In addition to deliveries, we perform housekeeping and chore services. We also work with Heartland public transportation to arrange transportation for seniors and disabled individuals to attend medical appointments or shop for themselves. Pass along this new information to anyone who might be interested.

Cart to Cupboard is now delivering prescription medication. Call us at 763-552-9222 to set up prescription delivery.


Cart to Cupboard welcomes an AmeriCorps*VISTA member-- Molly Tolzmann, a resident of Forest Lake, was sworn in as a member of the Initiative Foundation's Central Minnesota VISTA project on August 7, 2009 and will be developing Cart to Cupboard's volunteer program. Molly brings a high caliber of skills and experience to her service with Cart to Cupboard. She received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Molly has also worked with a great variety of people, across all ages, income and educational backgrounds, and cultural and religious backgrounds. She has experience working and living in urban, suburban, and rural communities and understands the different needs of different groups.

For more than 40 years, VISTA - often called the "domestic Peace Corps" - has been helping bring communities and individuals out of poverty. Today, nearly 7,000 AmeriCorps*VISTA members serve in nonprofit organizations and public agencies across the country.
